My Kind of C.V

Hi my name is Joseph, I am sure that is obvious by now but I like the sound of my own name so I thought I would repeat it, well who am i? That is always an interesting question, one that I am sure we have all asked our selves at some point in our lives. The best I can do is tell you where I am now and a bit about how I got here.

I am 38 while I am writing this and in the United Kingdom again after almost 17 years living and doing business overseas. I left the United Kingdom when I was 21. I had a brave idea that I would find something in India, so after a short while of generating enough cash from a small car cleaning company I had started I packed my bags and went.

The Young Hippy Much Skinnier Than Now!

The Young Hippy Much Skinnier Than Now!

I remember back then how nervous I was of the unknown but driven to break the boundaries and see what else life had to show me. I spent six years in India successfully making a very good living buying clothes and jewellery and exporting it back to the UK. My lifestyle there was fantastic but after six years I started having dreams about what I could build. I was seeing in my mind images of resorts and hotels and holiday complexes I could develop but after much deliberation I decided that india was not the place for me to realise that goal  as I wanted to be nearer to family and an environment I understood.

I returned to the United Kingdom for about a year where I was looking at a number of different opportunities I could get my teeth into but one thing or another didn’t stack up. I went on a holiday to southern spain as many of us brits do, a chance for sunshine and sandy beaches, well I was hooked, probably the consisitent sunshine I had missed after india was a big factor in my decision. I made my decision, I was leaving the UK to find another fortune in spain.

There was a lot of cheap property at the time and I quickly found a large farm house at a steal price that needed some extensive rebuilding. I packed up and left for the new challenge taking a couple of guys down from my home town to help with the work. 18 months  later and a huge amount of extra uncalculated work the house was ready. It had taken continued focused, disciplined work to achieve this with all sorts of mountains to climb. I had learned fluent Spanish and a fair amount of knowledge in Spanish law.

18 Months Later Less Some Blood Sweat And Tears, All Done!

Whilst finishing the house I had identified that there was sizable amount of newly classified building land. The price was extremely good and there was a growing interest form the British to purchase a house in the sun. I formed a company and started to promote, market and build houses. The company grew rapidly. We opened sales offices, employed a reasonable number of staff and things were good. We continued to meet the challenges of growth and all the associated problems and eventually after about four years we bought a plot of land where we could build a development of over a hundred apartments.

All went well, apart from a hold up by the architect and some planning problems that almost bankrupted us but we fought our way through. We sold a high percentage of the properties early and off plan, and up the building went. In early 2006 things started to change. The banks were obviously starting to get nervous with the credit frivolity that had been going on. They started to tighten there belts and change the goal posts. So much so that I had no choice but to thin the company down over the next six months to just my self and my father who had joined me a couple of years earlier after his retirement to help in the business we had both formed.

With him backing me up with admin support and other day to day tasks we managed to get the building from 60% finished, with a full staff, to my father and I single handed,  marching through another  2 years to 100% completion. God only knows how we managed to stick it out, it was like climbing a mountain with slopes of wet mud.

I would love to complete this story with a 100% success statement. This wasn’t the case. At the final hurdle when we had completed all necessary documentation to complete with our buyers our financing bank decided to pull the carpet out from under us. They failed to honour the mortgage approvals agreed with our clients. There is no need to explain in great detail that we were left with a 75% sold development with a number of  clients who could not complete. It became clear, after many failed attempts to find alternative solutions with the bank, that I wont explain now for risk of making this page to long, that it was preferable to wind down the company and start over with what resourses i had.

We all know just how hard this global crisis is and the games the financiers have played with so many of our lives, so I am sure that this story is to one extent or another one that many of us can relate to.

Things Starting To Take Shape

Things Starting To Take Shape

All FInished.

All Finished. (Less More Blood Sweat and Tears)

Throughout the last two years of finishing the business I have previously described I started to dream of what would be my ideal situation, I decided that if I could run a business from home on my computer, it would be great. No more daily visits to the building site and elongated meetings with lawyers, accountants, builders etc where all was agreed and then never completed properly…… The pressures of the traditional business are immense and families often suffer. I have 3 boys and a wife to live for and I want to spend as much of my time with them. Well they are my best friends and when I am with them I am at my happiest. As far as I am concerned happiness is the most important thing and when you have happiness all sorts of things are attracted to make things happier.

After all sorts of upheaval and change we resettled to educate the boys back on home turf, I got the time I needed to look for that illusive dream of finding an opportunity that ticked the boxes. To be honest I thought at some points I was asking too much.

Early last year my Father called. He had had his nose to the screen for some time and said I think I have it. I asked him if it was fatal?. Of course the sceptic in me said “what’s the catch?” There are so many scams. Here today gone tomorrow with all the cash. The loosely regulated internet of recent years has made it easy for the smooth tongued scamsters to offer anything and make it look like easy money. Sit on your back side and you will be a millionaire over night. Well some of them who have put out these offers may well have coined it in to the detriment of the unsuspecting. Life has taught me not all that glitters is gold.

I did my home work on this one as much as is possible and found that it was real and there actually was an honest business behind the curtain. I found in the initial stages was they had integrity. They told me that over 90% of people that start in the internet marketing business drop out. It was clear there is far too much hype out there saying you can just open your laptop and miraculously there will be mounds of cash in your PayPal account without having to actually do very much is just not feasible.

You will read in my emails, many of the systems that would traditionally require a large full time staff to administer are solved with many fantastic web applications like email auto responders. Email itself removes the need to physically post a letter. Highly advanced statistical programs tell you whether your marketing is hitting the audience. The power you have at your finger tips is phenomenal.

Let me make this clear. You do have to work.

Unless you win the lottery or are born into money the concept of wealth without action does not exist. There are no free rides and no genie. It is your self, your positive self will and determination that is actually going to launch you from zero to millionaire hero.

Being extremely rich may not be your goal. You may want to replace or top up an existing income. This business can do either for you. My interest is to mentor you in the direction you want to go.

I will teach you how to build the necessary structure and the techniques you will need to employ to create a viable online business in your chosen area. Don’t be concerned about a lack of opportunity, it is absolutely the opposite. I will guide you to where you can find literally tens of thousands of electronically downloadable products to sell, covering all manner of subjects.

Everything we do in life and everything that happens has something positive to be found. It is just a case of believing it is there and it will show itself.
